Over the past year Allstate has taken aggressive steps to reduce catastrophe exposure, to provide shareholders an acceptable return on the risks assumed in property business and to reduce variability of earnings, while providing protection to customers, Liddy says, adding, "And the best news is we've done that while continuing to profitably grow our business in a very competitive market."
