Allstate generated continued strong financial performance in 2007, including a return on equity of more than 21 percent, thanks to disciplined execution, excellent pricing and claims operations, and a strategic focus on profitable growth and operational excellence. Allstate president and CEO Tom Wilson described how the company will leverage its competitive advantages and great brand equity in 2008 by reinventing protection and retirement for the consumer. To that end the company has recently developed and launched such innovative products as Your Choice Auto, Your Choice Home, Allstate Blue and Allstate Green. He also discussed Allstate's investment portfolio as well as its ongoing strategy to reduce catastrophe exposure.
