04/29/2008 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -
Signaling an assertive move to quickly expand Allstate's growth into the employer-based life and health benefits market, Allstate Workplace Division today named Walter M. Jones to a newly created role as Senior Vice President of National Accounts.
Jones will lead the division's strategic initiative to increase Allstate's market presence in large and mega employer account marketplaces. This initiative includes the distribution of a wide array of products--life insurance, supplemental health and disability insurance, long and short-term disability, critical illness, and many others--through national brokerage firms and consulting organizations. Jones will also lead the development of strategic alliance partnerships to boost Allstate's workplace benefits market share among large employers.
Jones becomes a member of the division's senior management team and reports directly to Allstate Workplace Division Executive Vice president, Wayne Watkins.
"Already overstressed human resource departments in large companies continually strive to add valuable benefits for their employees and improve processes for their organizations. Allstate's extensive suite of workplace products align nicely with those corporate needs," said Wayne Watkins, Executive Vice President of Distribution for Allstate Workplace Division. "Walter's 20 years of consulting experience will give the National Account team the leadership to deliver value propositions to our clients." Prior to joining Allstate's Workplace Division, Jones was Vice President of the Employee Benefits Group for Aon Consulting based in Raleigh, NC. He brings two decades of experience in the voluntary benefits business and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
"The large account market is an important component of our ongoing strategy to put the customer at the center of all of our work and provide the products and services they need in ways they want them," said David Bird, President of Allstate Workplace Division."No one understands this market better than Walter and I'm extremely pleased to have him on our senior management team."
